Yesterday...
Clint and I got up a little after 4 am to get ready and loaded for our trip to Kansas City for Saige's appointments.  We got all 3 girls in the Santa Fe and left home a little after 5 am.  We dropped Jaide and Sloan off at Greensburg with Papa Bob and Grandma Ann.  We made a couple stops along the way for breakfast, etc and had to drive through a little rain, but we made it to KC in good time.  Saige did pretty good on the trip up.  We got a new DVD player since our old one broke a few months ago, so that helped to entertain her.  Dian also sent a special bag for her with a coloring book and a pink My Little Pony among other things.  She was content, but wouldn't ever go back to sleep.  The first thing we did when we got to the hospital was have her blood drawn.  She screamed and cried, but didn't fight it too much and it was over quick.  I'm so thankful we can get blood on the first stick now and we don't have to poke her for an hour like we did when she was a baby.  After that, we took her to the cafeteria and bought her some ice cream, which made her happy.  We had a few tests starting at 12:30.  The renal ultrasound went well and Saige did great.  Her next test didn't go well and we tried to do it for an hour, then quit because Clint and I were not going to put her through any more.  She then had a checkup with Dr. Warady (nephrologist).  We talked about her labwork and her ultrasound.  He was happy with her growth and labs.  Her left kidney is still problematic and hasn't grown since last year and has damage (which she was born with).  Her right kidney is better than the left, but not fully functional.  Her kidney function is 58% right now.  Next, we had an appointment with Mr. Murphy (urologist).  We finally got out of there about 5:30 pm.  We were literally jogging out of the hospital.  Saige was so ready to be out of there and we were too.  We hit rush hour traffic and it took us an hour to get out of KC.  We stopped to get some food and gas and headed home.  Saige ate a good supper of chicken nuggets and french fries then finally fell asleep.  We stopped in Greensburg to pick up Sloan and Jaide and made it home a few minutes before midnight.  It was a long day and I'm glad it's over.

Today...
Reunited, and it feels so good...
Saige and Sloan were so happy to see each other.  Saige brought this Dora sticker back from the hospital for Sloan.  The girls played so well together all morning.
Saige and Sloan were playing tea party and Sloan was scooping the pink my little pony a drink of water and she said, "Whew, being a parent is hard work."
