Saige and Sloan played together so well this afternoon.  They were having so much fun pretending and making up stories.  I was doing dishes and they came into the kitchen and laid their stuff out for a camp out on the kitchen floor.

Jaide has a snotty nose and a pretty rough cough.  She didn't nap well at all today (or last night), which makes her cranky, which tests my patience.  I need to have more patience.

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God."

Last Friday we had a urine culture run on Saige and we got the results Monday.  Despite all of the antibiotics, she continues to have an infection.  She is on a different antibiotic trying to treat it, but she broke out with a fever again this afternoon and isn't feeling well.  We are hoping she can make it to Monday without having to go to the ER and we can call the doctor again.

Judd told me this morning that I was his wife.  He will soon outgrow this phase, so I'm not even going to correct him and tell him why I can't be his wife.  I love how at night, the boys say, "Goodnight pretty princess".  Their Daddy treats me well and it shows in how the boys treat me.

Jaide is walking everywhere.  She says "Dada" and I finally heard her say "Momma" a few days ago.  She walked into the kitchen and was saying, "Momma, Momma" and wanting me to pick her up.  Gosh, I love that girl.  No, not any more than the other 4.  I honestly and truly love them all the same.  Jaide is developing mentally so much.  She likes to put things in piles and moves things from one place to another.  This afternoon, she was moving my cookbooks, one at a time, from the shelf in the kitchen to the dining room floor.  Tonight while I was telling the boys goodnight in their room, she was moving their toys from one drawer to another.  I absolutely love watching her learn and grow.  I vaguely remember when the other 4 were this age and it was so much fun seeing them learn new things.

Gigi is moving to Greensburg today.  Our kids are excited that they get to see her more often, as am I.

This morning started out with Clint killing another rattlesnake.  He went into the garage and found one curled up trying to stay warm.  Ugh.  I saw a very small snake in the backyard later this morning and I couldn't tell what kind it was because it was so small so I went ahead and killed it (by chopping it's head off with a hoe).  Clint said it was garden snake.  I have barely seen any snakes this summer and now all at once we are seeing way too many for my liking.

We all went south to move our Oklahoma cows to a new pasture.  They were tired of being in the pasture they were in and had eaten down the grass, so they were easy to move because they wanted to follow the pickup.  Jaide and I went behind them in the Ranger and the 4 big kids were on the Gators.  I do not necessarily like getting up early in the morning, but I usually always feel good when I do and I love getting pictures of the kids at this time of day.

Milo harvest started today, so after we got the cows moved, Clint went to haul milo.  I wanted to do something special with the kids this evening and take them on a date.  We went to town and had supper at Don's they went and played at the playground.  This may seem like an every day occurrence for a lot of people, but we don't normally drive to town just to eat out.  I guess you could call us frugal.  Anyway, I called and ordered our food before we left home so it was ready when we got there.  All 5 of the kids sat and ate their food and were very well behaved, if I do say so myself.  I was very proud of them.  We went and played at the playground for about an hour.  Clint was done hauling for the day and left his truck at Kirk's and he rode home with us, so it worked out well.
Jaide was so happy to be walking around and playing with the other kids
Sloan was telling me quite a story

The girls having a snack this afternoon.  Sloan is glued to the tv, as usual.

Sloan built "a house" and she asked me to take her picture with it.

Jett lined up all his puppies on the floor at bedtime.  Their names from left to right are:  Husky, Woofing Puppy (he barks), Tilley (with the big eyes), Wolf (with the dark brown ears), Woofing Puppy (again, he barks), Red Rover.

Judd was "reading" the girls a book before bed.

When the boys got home from school today, they wanted to get on their football stuff that they got for their birthday from Papa Larry and Nana Diane.  I helped them get it on, took a picture of them because they are so stinkin cute then they wanted to go outside to play football.  Within a minute they were back inside telling me there was a snake outside.  I went out to check and, sure enough, there was a snake, a rattlesnake.  I tried to call Clint who was out in the field spraying, but he didn't answer.  I got the shotgun out of the gun safe and pretended like I knew what I was doing.  Once I remembered to take it off safety, I hit the snake (on the second shot).  I killed it and all the kids cheered.

Today is Jett and Judd's 5th birthday.  I can't believe they are 5 already.  I have been so busy the past week trying to make sure they had a great party and then getting ready to take treats to their class today, that I haven't really let myself think about my babies growing up.
The boys wanted pumpkin sugar cookies and chocolate chip cookies for their birthday party at school.  They had pumpkin cookies for breakfast this morning (I made them last night).  I put 5 candles in each one and we sang to them individually.

There were lots of butterflies in our north tree row and Clint caught a few in the pickup.  The kids had so much fun watching them and playing with them.
This is one of Saige's favorite things to wear right now...her pink dance outfit over her clothes

I took the cookies and some ice cream in this afternoon for the boys and their classmates (they had a few sick today).  Clint stayed at home with the girls.  It was fun to see them with their classmates and meet some of them I didn't know.

Jaide was happy when her brother got home from school.  Judd laid down on the floor and Jaide walked over to him and laid down on his chest.  It was so sweet.

For their birthday supper, the boys chose what any red-blooded 5 year old would...steak.  Clint grilled some rib eyes and some hot dogs.  Jett wanted to eat at the picnic table, so we did.

The boys love their bow and arrows they got for their birthday from Papa Bob and Grandma Ann.  After supper, they had fun having Clint shoot the toy arrows up as high as he could then running to pick them up when they came down.

Judd got a splinter in his foot this morning.  He came inside to show us and said, "It hurts, but I'm trying not to cry because I'm almost 5."

Jaide was fussing some this morning and Sloan was helping me entertain her.  Sloan said, "Our job is to keep baby Jaide from crying, isn't it Momma."

Today, for some reason, I just really enjoyed being home and doing domestic things like dishes and laundry.  Sometimes I get overwhelmed with the amount of both of those things, but today I just felt really thankful I have people to fold laundry for and wash dishes for.

The kids were fairly entertaining today.
Jett put on his new football pants, his "Daddy shirt" and the wrist protectors you wear when riding a bicycle.

Judd loves praying mantis (or "hermantis", as he calls them) and he found one this morning on the porch.  He and Sloan made a home for it on the pumpkin complete with a bed and bridge.

This afternoon, Sloan picked some of my flowers and brought them in so "we could each have one to wear in our hair".  Love my girls!

The boys got dry erase boards for their birthday and Judd was using his this evening to practice writing his letters.

Judd and Sloan picked me some "flowers" this morning, which I am proudly displaying on the kitchen counter.  Who needs roses?  Definitely not me.

I find it amusing that out of all the movies the kids could choose to watch, they pick The Sound of Music.  That's what they wanted before bedtime tonight.

We spent the day in Greensburg.  The kids had fun picking out their own pumpkin from Dad and Mom's garden.

We tried to get a picture of all of them, but it wasn't very successful.
