Saige has been sick for about 2 months, but she got really bad on Thursday night and Friday.  We took her to the doctor on Thursday to have blood drawn and get another urine analysis.  We also took Sloan and Jaide with us since Sloan hasn't been feeling 100% and Jaide has a nasty cough.  Saige did absolutely amazing while getting her blood drawn.  She obviously didn't want it done and cried, but she held still and I didn't have to lay on her legs and hold her down.  Clint held her other arm and kissed her head and Sloan, Jaide and I sat by her legs and rubbed them and tried to help her through it.  She did amazing and we were so proud of her.  It didn't phase Sloan at all and she told Saige that she was proud of her.  Then we went to family practice to get the girls checked out.  Saige's blood work looked decent, but her urine still looked pretty bad.  We were going to wait for our doctor to talk with Saige's doctor in Kansas City to confirm treatment.  Sloan is on antibiotic for an infection and Jaide is on breathing treatments for her cough.  We took the girls out for pizza before heading home to meet the boys when they got off the school bus.
Saige had a rough night on Thursday night and crashed on Friday morning.  Her fever was increasing a degree every 10 minutes and she was vomiting.  We called the doctor and got her on a really high strength antibiotic.  Jaide and I went over to Coldwater to pick it up at the pharmacy and hurried back home to get Saige a dose.  When we've given her this medicine before, it takes about 3 doses before she is acting better (it's 2 doses a day).  We just stayed home the rest of the day on Friday and tried to make Saige rest.  We also tried to spend extra time with the other 4 so they didn't feel left out.  Her fever spiked again through the night, but came back down and she hasn't thrown up or had a fever since Friday in the middle of the night.
Yesterday morning, we had planned to go to McPherson for Cole's 3rd birthday party, but we just waited to see how Saige was doing.  All the kids really wanted to go (so did I) so it was hard for them to wait around and not know if we were going to be able to go.  Saige took her morning medicines without throwing up and didn't have a fever so we decided to go.  Clint stayed home to get work done.  The kids and I left about 9 am.  It's a 3 hour drive to McPherson, which can have the possibility of being complete torture.  3 hours is an eternity to a preschooler and a toddler.  Thankfully, the trip up there was pretty good.  Jaide slept for about half the trip and I kept her quiet with snacks the other half.  I am a multitasking driver.  The kids were so happy to be at Scott and Alana's and I was too.  We had a great birthday party and my kids, especially Saige, we so excited to hold baby Lyla, who is 3 weeks old.  Saige has been asking to hold her since before she was born.  I'm pretty sure it was an alternative form of medicine for Saige to hold Lyla.  She was so happy!  We stayed until supper time when I loaded the kids, got McDonalds drive-thru and headed home.  Sloan and Judd slept about half the way home.  Jett and Saige only slept for about 45 minutes.  Jaide slept for about 30 minutes, she woke up and I handed her food until she had enough, then cried for about a torturous hour then went back to sleep.  I had to stop twice on the way home (once on the way up) for a kid(s) to pee.  I made it back home around 9:30 pm.  Clint helped me get everyone carried in and put to bed.  It was a lot of driving, but I'm glad we were able to go and glad Saige is starting to feel a little better for now.
We spent today enjoying the beautiful day at home.  The weather was perfect.  It was calm and sunny and the kids played most of the day.  We didn't turn the tv on until 3 pm this afternoon when I got them a snack.  Clint did 3 loads of laundry for me today and I tried to get caught up on the dishes.  All of our babies are sleeping sound in their beds and so I'm headed there too.

Saige looks tired and her skin color isn't very good, but this is the happiest I've seen her in awhile.  She was so excited to "help Alana with baby Lyla".

Alana gave Jett and Judd their birthday presents since they weren't able to make it to their party.
